why you will never be happy

We have everything backwards. You don’t do what you think will make you happy. You BE happy first, and do whatever follows that.

(I’m not saying anything that hasn’t been said before.)

So, how do you be happy right now? You choose it.

Sounds easier said than done, right? How do you turn up enough conviction, enough courage, enough full throttle commitment and determination to set the focus dial to happiness in every cell of your living body?

I can give you a whole list of reasons why that would actually happen.

Because you want it that badly.

Because you feel deeply that nothing else matters as much.

Because you finally understand, I mean, really understand, how precious every second you’ve been given is.

But only one really matters: because it’s never gonna happen for you otherwise. I mean it. You will never be happy…even if you finally have the house, the relationship, the career, the freedom, the money, the child, the nose, the moves you want. You will never be happy, because all of your momentum, all your efforts and desires, stem from the wish to avoid feeling UNhappy.

What would happen if you were to simply decide, to be happy, right now? What might that look like, in these next 60 seconds?

For me, it looks like publishing these words, even though they’re not perfect. Because I feel moved writing it, and I want you to feel something, too.

Please share what your happiness in the next 60 seconds looks like, below. I’d love to hear from you, too!

  1. My happiness is a love I feel for my family and friends as I write my holiday cards and prepare to send them. I’m truly blessed and just happy with the gifts of love I have in my daily life.
