If we don’t do anything differently today, then our lives will not be different tomorrow. Are you growing in all the areas of your life you would like to be? If not, I invite you to try this for 21 days, the amount of time it takes to first notice a shift in your inner consciousness. The truth is, you could be wasting the most important minutes of your day with bad habits, wrong activities, or even by sleeping through it.
Did you know that we each have a time of the day when we are our most effective, most radiant, most brimming with potential? This time of day is based on the meridian clock and the time which you were born. The 12 major meridians each comprise a 2-hour block of a 24-hour day. I’m going to show you exactly how to take advantage of this power-time. You can actually focus on performing just one simple and meaningful action a day in this time slot and radically impact your life.
Simply find the time slot below in which you were born to find your power zone. I will show you how to play with the corresponding element during this time window in a way that amplifies your power, your abilities, and the creative force at work in your life. Amazing!
- 3-5 a.m. — Lung — metal
- 5-7 a.m. — Large Intestine — metal
- 7-9 a.m. — Stomach — earth
- 9-11 a.m. — Pancreas — earth
- 11 a.m.-1 p.m. — Heart — fire
- 1-3 p.m. — Small Intestine — fire
- 3-5 p.m. — Bladder —water
- 5-7 p.m. — Kidney — water
- 7-9 p.m. — Circulation — fire
- 9-11 p.m. — Triple Heater — fire
- 11 p.m.- 1 a.m. — Gall Bladder — wood
- 1-3 a.m. — Liver — wood
Take advantage of this unique power zone by performing one of the element-matching activities below. Or you can complete one step of a meaningful goal during this window instead to significantly impact your mood, your success, and your life. I also highly recommend keeping a simple daily diary, just 1-3 sentences a day is enough, so you can collect the feedback necessary to further plan for your success. With a week’s worth of simple feedback on this exercise, I can help you to confidently find what next step will best leverage your time and efforts.
If you were born during “metal” time, work with deep breathing or short cleansing breaths (depending on which is right for you), as metal is ruled by the lungs and air exchange. Metal is also about communication and exchange of ideas, so having a writing or journaling practice during this time can also be of benefit, as well as singing. Because metal also rules the large intestine and the skin, some other practices may include dry skin brushing and drinking a large amount of water to stimulate purging of the bowels.
If you were born during “earth” time, include a practice of grounding and relaxation, as earth is about stability and can be easily impacted by stress. Self-massage, standing yoga power poses (like lunges and squats), as well as cooking nourishing, healthy whole foods are important “earth” activities. Earth element rules the stomach, spleen, and pancreas organs.
If you were born during “fire” time, intense physical exercise, like interval training or running can support you. You can also try pounding vigorously on the chest to stimulate the thymus gland. The fire meridians rule the heart and small intestine and the emotions of happiness, joy, and enthusiasm. Generosity practices of service and focusing on helping others will also support you in this time, and generally, anything that brings you a profound sense of joy.
If you were born during “water” time, it’s a good idea to enjoy creative, flow supporting activities, like dancing, painting, playing music, and stimulating the senses. Water rules the kidney, bladder, and reproductive organs, so emotional activities, like time with intimate friends and romantic connections, are supported in these times.
If you were born during “wood” time, focus on growth, development, and activity. Wood rules the liver and gall bladder, and is an excellent time to plan for your day and make goals. It is also about courage and initiative, so taking bold and brave new actions that will truly propel your life forward fit perfectly into this time. You can even visualize yourself taking the bold actions you have in mind, and what it would feel like in your body, since wood time is very late and may not always be a good time to take the action.
If your time slot is in the middle of the night, I recommend waking up for 10-minutes at least once a week to perform a simple exercise or meditation then going back to sleep. It is well worth the power boost you receive from this simple act.
